Besides transients causing fires in vacant damaged buildings, a 5.3 magnitude after shock caused a fire involving a transformer located within the Van Nuys, California electrical power substation. Los Angeles City Fire Department Companies 39, 88, 35 and 92 battled the blaze which occurred in July 1994.
