An elderly female drive was fatally injured in a head-on collision involving a car and a minivan in Frederick, Maryland. The Maryland State Police Aviation Division's Trooper 3 helicopter on roadway awaits patient extrication. Frederick City's Junior and United Fire Companies extricated three adults and two pediatric patients who were transported by three State Police helicopters to trauma centers. A story in this month's issue features the emergency service use of Global Positioning System (GPS) equipment to instantly signal incoming medevac helicopters.
