After several attempts were made to locate a 14-month-old girl who was trapped on the second floor of a burning house, without the protection of a hoseline and with conditions worsening, Firefighter James Almoney dives out a second-floor window into the a rms of Firefighter Ron Haufe and others. Bother firefighters were knocked from the ladder to the ground. The fire occured in Prince George's County, Maryland on April 17, 1997. A related story is in this month's iss ue of Firehouse Magazine.
